Ichiko Aoba — "gift" at Sogetsu Hall (Live)

This album is so beautiful it can sometimes feel overwhelming. This is 78 minutes of straight-out bliss mistakenly labeled an album. The thing that’s get me most about it is its simplicity: one woman playing an acoustic guitar and singing, that’s it. I can’t think of music as good as this being as effective at inducing a sense of calm as this… to imagine this was just a single performance, recorded live in a concert hall in Tokyo.

The more I speak about this album, the more I feel like I might end up doing a disservice to it. Just drop everything and get under the covers and listen to it, it’s phenomenal.

You can find the album on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
